Yes. Our entire range is suitable for both vegans and vegetarians.
The UK has the ideal temperate climate for growing oats, and some of the best oats in the world are grown here. Using imported oats only serves to increase food miles and diminish sustainability, which is why we only use UK provenance oats.
Not yet. Whilst oats are gluten free, most UK oat growers will crop rotate with wheat and barley, both of which contain gluten. We are talking to some local farmers who do not rotate their oats crops with barley, and are therefore potentially able to provide a gluten free oat crop in the future.
No. We do not use any artificial colours, flavourings, or sweeteners. Our shakes are all 100% natural ingredients.
We do not use any preservatives to keep them fresh, which is why we gently pasteurise our shakes to help them last longer.
Yes. In addition to the natural sugars in oats, we add a small amount of natural British beet sugar for taste. However, we keep the added sugar as low as possible. In fact, our shakes contain significantly less sugar than most fruit juices and smoothies.
Sourcing our ingredients locally is important to us. Our shakes are made up of >95% UK ingredients (Chocolate 95%, Salted Caramel 96%, Strawberry & Vanilla 96.5%). We will always choose a UK ingredient or supplier over an imported alternative, wherever possible.
Our glass bottles and metal caps are reusable and 100% recyclable. For us, it’s the most sustainable packaging choice and it’s easy to recycle.
However, recycling glass does require energy input and Co2 output. If you can, find a way to reuse our bottles (some creative ideas can be found on our Instagram page), that will have the least environmental impact.
Our entire range is made fresh, by hand, on our family farm near Southwell, Nottinghamshire.
We’re a very young business so don’t yet have any formal credentials. However, we would one day love to become B Corp certified and sustainability is at the heart of what we do. With more than 95% of our ingredients by weight sourced from the UK, and our commitment to using UK provenance oats, we think our journey has set out in the right direction.
Oats contain a soluble fibre called beta-glucan. Beta glucans have been shown to reduce cholesterol. There is lots of information available publicly on the wonder of oats, and we encourage everyone to read up on what an incredible cereal it is.
